Help your athlete build calm under pressure, recover more effectively, and strengthen the mental skills that support both performance and long-term well-being.
Student athletes are under more pressure than ever. Competition, academics, recruiting, expectations, social pressure, and identity can all collide at once.
That pressure often shows up as:
Anxiety before games or meets
Loss of confidence after mistakes or poor performances
Trouble sleeping before competition
Difficulty resetting after setbacks
Burnout during the season
Stress that starts affecting life beyond sport
Most athletes spend years training their bodies. Very few are ever taught how to train their minds.
Firth Mindfulness helps student athletes strengthen the skills behind consistent performance and healthy recovery through two proven approaches: Mindfulness Coaching and HRV Biofeedback. This is personalized coaching built around the athlete’s physiology, sport, and goals.

Mindfulness helps athletes improve attention, emotional regulation, composure, and self-awareness. In practice, that can mean staying present under pressure, recovering more quickly from mistakes, and competing with more confidence.

Heart Rate Variability biofeedback gives athletes real-time insight into how their nervous system responds to stress and recovery. It helps them learn how to regulate breathing, improve recovery habits, and build greater resilience from the inside out.
Build the ability to stay composed, reset quickly, and perform when it matters most.
Use physiology-based feedback to better understand stress, recovery, and readiness.
Support the rest and nervous-system recovery that performance depends on.
Develop healthier responses to pressure, setbacks, and the demands of competitive sports.
The coaching behind Firth Mindfulness is shaped by three things working together:
Over a decade of personal mindfulness practice
Clinical training and experience as a Physician Assistant specializing in Psychiatry
Formal mindfulness teacher training through Dharma Moon and Tibet House US
This is not generic motivation coaching.
It is thoughtful, evidence-informed training designed to help athletes perform with greater steadiness and protect their mental well-being at the same time.
This coaching may be a fit if your athlete is:
Hard on themselves after mistakes
Struggling with nerves before competition
Feeling burned out, overwhelmed, or mentally drained
Having trouble bouncing back after injury, setbacks, or poor performances
Looking for a healthier, more sustainable mental edge
Parents often reach out because they can see their athlete is carrying too much pressure and needs practical tools, not just encouragement.

My journey to this work wasn't a straight line - it was built from a decade of parallel paths that turned out to be pointing in the same direction.
For over ten years, mindfulness and meditation have been a personal practice. What began as a tool for my own clarity and resilience became something I wanted to share with the people around me.
Professionally, I trained and practice as a certified Physician Assistant specializing in Psychiatry. Every day in the clinic, I see what unmanaged stress, anxiety, and burnout do to the mind and body and I see how early intervention changes outcomes. Student athletes are one of the most underserved populations in mental health, and one of the most receptive when you give them the right tools.
To formalize my teaching practice, I completed the rigorous 100-hour Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training through Dharma Moon, earning dual certification from Dharma Moon and Tibet House US - the United States Cultural Center of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The training is grounded in Buddhist philosophy and practice, with a contemporary and accessible approach to teaching mindfulness in real-world settings.
I started Firth Mindfulness because I believe every athlete deserves access to these tools, not just the ones at elite programs with full-time sports psychologists. The mind is trainable. Resilience is buildable. And the work we do here goes far beyond sport. It's a foundation for a healthier, more grounded life in every domain.
